Clean shoes with a humidified sponge and allow to dry naturally for at least 24 hours before applying any care products.
Invest in a good conditioning cream and apply regularly to keep leather hydrated and supple.
Use a soft cotton cloth wrapped around a finger or two to apply the cream in small circular motions. Don’t use sweeping strokes.
Take a small brush to apply cream to the join of the sole and upper.
Allow the cream to penetrate for at least 10-15 minutes before you polish off with a soft brush.
Apply a wax polish to the toe and heel area if you like a high-shine finish. Use the same method as the cream, adding a dab of water to achieve a glazed effect.
Put your shoes on and walk a few steps, then use a dry cotton cloth or soft brush to remove excess cream or wax from the creasing.
For suede shoes, use a suede brush when required.
Always use a shoehorn so you don’t misshape or damage your shoes.
Use a shoetree daily to keep shoes in shape and help soften creasing.
Rotate your shoes between wears, allowing the leather time to dry and breathe.
